This opportunity is designed for a Registered Nurse with expertise in cardiac stepdown care to support patients requiring specialized post-operative and cardiac care during night shifts. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care following the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for cardiac stepdown patients.
- Manage patients recovering post-CABG, valve surgeries, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain, ensuring close monitoring with a 1:3 to 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Utilize hospital equipment such as chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP machines safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with ancillary departments to coordinate patient care plans and optimize comfort.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in compliance with healthcare standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in float assignments as needed and adapt to unit-specific physical demands.
Qualifications
- Current RN license eligible for Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a cardiac stepdown inpatient setting.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association; NIHSS certification preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts and weekend rotations as required.
- Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to promoting a positive patient care culture.
- Adherence to dress code and professional standards.
Schedule/Hours
- Nights: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week (flexible to your preference)
- Weekend shifts every other weekend as required
- Orientation on day shift prior to start of assignment
